2007It’s been almost 5 months since I’ve cuddled my dogs, and it feels like 5 years. I really miss having them around so much. I miss seeing their tails wagging constantly, hearing Jasmin snore at night and how Candy wakes me up every morning by sticking her wet nose in my face and scratching my head with her giant paws. I miss the feeling of their warm hugs and kisses and observing their enthusiasm about life in general. The good news is that they’re coming tomorrow, YAY!! I’m sending them over from Perth by plane. Some people don’t know me, might think I’m crazy and geez.. The things I do for them.
But if you have the love for animals the way I do and enjoy their companionship, you’d know what it’s like. The reality is, keeping any pets is not an easy task, in a way you have to be selfless and make time for them because they are living things and therefore, they rely on you for survival. They are intelligent creatures that need a lot of stimulation. They need to be exercised and socialized daily. They need to be taught manners and boundaries. It takes a lot of time and dedication for this is an ongoing process. On the other hand, they teach you patience, not having any unrealistic expectations, responsibility, loyalty, purity, discipline, consistency and friendship to name a few. The most important lesson that I learnt though, is the ability to give an unconditional love. They give me so much joy and affection and yet ask very little in return. I despise people who mistreat animals; it’s something that I could never comprehend. Nevertheless, I cannot wait to see my pooches Saj and I went shopping at Super Pet on the weekend to get all the necessities so at least when they arrive, we’ve got most if it covered. Saj is going to pick them up tomorrow at noon. Since my work place is a dog friendly office, I am lucky enough to be able to introduce my aussie dogs to my fellow Canadians.
So ExCiTeD..! Eeekks.. muahahaa Â
